Pixel pitch (also called dot pitch) is the distance from the center of one LED pixel to the center of the next pixel, measured in millimeters. It's written as "P" followed by a number — for example, P2.5 means each pixel is 2.5mm apart from the next.
When pixels are closer together, you get more pixels per square inch. This means sharper images, finer detail, and the ability to sit closer to the display without seeing individual pixels.
Manufacturing LEDs with tighter spacing requires more precision and more LEDs per panel. A P1.5 wall can cost 2-3x more than a P3.9 wall of the same physical size.
Each pixel pitch has an ideal viewing distance range. Sitting too close to a coarse-pitch wall, you'll see a "screen door" effect. Sitting too far from a fine-pitch wall, you can't appreciate the extra resolution.

A simple formula to match pitch to your viewing distance
A good rule of thumb: optimal viewing distance (in feet) = pixel pitch (in mm) × 3-5
Examples:
• P1.9 pitch → optimal viewing at 6-10 feet
• P2.5 pitch → optimal viewing at 8-13 feet
• P3.9 pitch → optimal viewing at 12-20 feet
If your primary seating is 10 feet from the wall, P1.9 or P2.5 is ideal. If you're 20 feet away, P3.9 works perfectly and saves money.
